The lightest weight chunky shoe ever. We’re all about the clunky shoe trend, but we felt like they needed a woman’s touch. We were craving something more feminine, more flattering, and much less heavy. For inspiration, we went back to our archives and pulled out some of our most popular court and cross-trainer styles from the ‘80s and ‘90s (hence the “89” in the name!). We took some design cues—like our wave logo from the ‘80s, a nod to our sportswear past—and incorporated them into this totally new chunky-yet-sleek platform silhouette. Thanks to a clever design move using mostly EVA and a just a teeny bit of rubber, the 2.25” platform is nearly weightless, offering a major height boost without weighing you down. And we didn’t stop there, we streamlined the uppers to keep things sleek, a.k.a. flattering, and added little feminine touches and color hits for a little something extra.
